Emergency Motorcycle Card

Motorcycle accidents happen without warning. Most riders, unfortunately, fail to consider what happens if they cannot communicate after an accident. While our Denver Motorcycle Injury Lawyers hope riders never experience an accident, we recognize prevention is often impossible. While it may not be possible to prevent motorcycle accidents, riders have many helpful tools to assist them in the event of a motorcycle accident. While there are many considerations riders can make when riding, our motorcycle injury lawyers would like to focus on one. We recommend carrying an “Emergency Motorcycle Card” while operating a motorcycle.

What is an Emergency Motorcycle Card?

The Emergency Motorcycle Card delivers vital information to a rescuer at the scene of an accident. When a rider is found unconscious, for example, the Emergency Motorcycle Card will help the rescuer determine vital information about the fallen rider, including an emergency contact. The Emergency Motorcycle Card should include the following information:

  • Name;
  • Address;
  • Phone Number;
  • Next of Kin;
  • Emergency contact;
  • Emergency contact’s phone number;
  • Siblings;
  • Any medications;
  • Preexisting medical conditions;
  • Any allergies;
  • Primary care physician’s information;
  • Any other pertinent information.

If you ride a motorcycle, make sure to carry an Emergency Motorcycle Card. The Card may save your life. Alternatively, at the very least, the Card could help rescuers determine necessary information at the scene of an accident.
